How the reviews are built

Each review draws on prudential reporting and other publicly available financial disclosures. We standardise every institution's P&L and balance sheet so they can be ranked side by side.

  • Rankings by profit, revenue, deposits, loans, borrowings and equity, with wallet share
  • Year-on-year growth for every line item
  • Cost-to-income, NIM, ROA, ROE, operational self-sufficiency and funding ratios
  • A scorecard page for every institution covered
Questions

About the reports

Are Finwise Analytica reports free to download?

Yes. Every full report and executive summary on this site is free. Enter your email address and country once and the PDF downloads straight to your device.

What is the difference between a full report and a summary report?

Full reports contain every section of the review, including institution-by-institution deep dives and detailed ratio tables. Summary reports are short executive editions with the industry dashboard, headline rankings and key ratios.

Which institutions do the reports cover?

The banking review covers all licensed commercial banks in Zambia. The DTMFI review covers seven deposit-taking microfinance institutions: Bayport, Micro Finance Zambia, LOLC Finance Zambia, EFC, Vision Fund Zambia, FINCA and Mfinance.

Where does the data come from?

Reviews are compiled from prudential returns and other publicly available financial disclosures deemed reliable at the time of publication. Ratios marked as annualised are scaled from quarterly results.

How often are new reports published?

Quarterly. The banking and microfinance reviews are each released after the quarter's published financial statements become available.

Need these numbers inside your institution?

We run the same data pipeline behind these reports for your board, ALCO and management packs, refreshed on your schedule.
